Duterte's war on drugs: 32 killed by Philippines police
August 16 , 2017
On the night of August 15 Philippines police killed 32 people following a number of raids close to Manila, the capital city. This can be called the bloodiest such spate of killings of all and is part of the war on drugs proclaimed by President Rodrigo Duterte. In 2016 Duterte came to power following a landslide victory. Much of this can be attributed to his promise of a never before seen level of crackdown on drugs during his campaign as a president-elect candidate.
