Disappearance of Mexican students: governor steps aside

  • Angel Aguirre Rivero, the governor of Mexico’s Guerrero state, said he is stepping aside as a probe into the disappearance of 43 students continues.

The students were involved in a confrontation with the local police on September 26. They have not been seen since then, in a case that has outraged the country.

Rivero said he would let the lawmakers of the state decide who should be the leader of the southern state.
