Despite 'ceasefire', Boko Haram abducts dozens of girls, women
October 24 , 2014
Despite claims of a ceasefire between the Nigerian government and Boko Haram , the militant group has abducted around 60 girls and women from the villages of Wagga and Gwarta in the country’s north-east.
There are indications that the abducted women could be used as sex slaves.
The latest abductions raise serious doubts over government claims that a ceasefire agreement had been reached with Boko Haram, and have dashed hopes that more than 200 schoolgirls abducted in April may be released soon.
