Deadly Unrest Erupts again along Gaza-Israel Border, 8 Palestinians Dead
April 7 , 2018
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres’ plea of exercising maximum restraint to both Israel and Palestine fell to deaf ears as 8 Palestinians have reportedly died after resumption of fresh protests along Gaza-Israel border. While the protesters demanded that the refugees are allowed to return to their ancestral lands occupied by Israel, Israeli military says they opened fire on people who attempted to breach fence along the border. With increasing fear of sniper shots from Israeli troops, Palestinians have started to create smokescreen by burning piles of tyres. UN high commissioner for human rights’ spokesperson warned that firearms can be used only as a last resort and in case of extreme necessities under international law.
