Deadly Flood Kills at Least 40 in North Western Iran

48 people have reportedly died because of deadly floods in north-west Iran. The worst hit provinces due to torrential rains include East Azerbaijan (especially Ajab Shir and Azar Shahr areas), Kordestan, Zanjan, and West Azerbaijan.
Reports say that heavy rains causing deadly floods have not only submerged the streets but also swept away cars. Landslide has also been reported, killing five people.
With the help of military and law enforcement authorities, search and rescue operation is going on. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei expressed condolence to families of flood victims.
