Daring American Globetrotters fast-track vacations to North Korea before US Travel Ban

  • With United States passports becoming invalid for travel to North Korea since September 1, daring American globetrotters are fast tracking their vacations to North Korea. Looming threat of imprisonment and arrest in the totalitarian state is not deterring these American globetrotters from visiting Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The US-ban came into effect a month after a 22-year-old college student named Otto Warmbier from Ohio travelling in North Korea was imprisoned and later sent back to the US in a state of coma, who later died. A State Department spokesperson told media that a special validation will be required by the US travelers along with passport for travelling to North Korea from September 1.
