Crashed AirAsia flight climbed too fast, says minister

AirAsia flight QZ8501 that crashed into the Java Sea on December 28 had climbed too fast, the transport minister of Indonesia said on Tuesday, January 20, according to media reports.
During a parliamentary hearing, Ignasius Jonan said Airbus A320-200, going from Indonesia to Singapore, ascended at a speed of about 6,000 feet per minute, adding that no passenger flight attempts to climb at such a fast pace.
The crash killed all 162 people on board. So far 53 bodies have been recovered from the sea.
