COVID-19 Infection in the US Surpasses 7 Million, 20% of World's Total Cases Now in the USA
September 26 , 2020
The Mideast states of the USA are witnessing a spike in the confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in September as the United States continues to remain the worst affected country affected with more than 7-million cases. While California leads the chart with more than 800,000 cases of infection, the other worst affected US states include Texas, Florida, and New York. The only state in the Mideast USA that has bucked the trend having an increasing rate of COVID-19 infection cases is Ohio. However, the US states that recorded the sharpest rate of increase in cases of infection are South Dakota (at 166% with 8,129 new cases) and North Dakota (with a 100% increase with 8,752 new cases). Reports say that the main reason for the sharp spike of new coronavirus cases in these two states is the 10-day long annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota, a month back. It was attended by hundreds of thousands of visitors. The record one-day increase in COVID cases in September has been reported in Montana, South Dakota, and Utah on Thursday.
