Court sentences Burmese men to death for killing two British tourists

  • A Thai court has sentenced to death two Burmese men for killing two British tourists in 2014. As per media reports, the bodies of the British tourists, 23-year-old Hannah Witheridge from Norfolk and 24-year-old David Miller from Jersey, were found bludgeoned on a beach on the southern Thai island of Koh Tao on September 15, 2014. The judges found the two bar workers, Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo, guilty and ordered that they face the death penalty.
