Costa Rica Plane Crash Kills 12 People

  • 12 passengers (including 10 Americans and 2 crew members) have reportedly died in a plane crash in Costa Rica on Sunday. Reports say the crash took place at 1pm ET in the Costa Rican tourist hotspot Guanacaste. President of Costa Rica ordered an investigation in the crash of the private Costa Rican airline (Nature Air), carrying the 10 US passengers. Former President Laura Chinchilla reportedly said that her cousin Juan Manuel Retana is one of the 10 dead in the fateful crash. U.S. State Department confirmed multiple deaths and also expressed condolence but didn’t provide additional information on the issue.
