Copenhagen shootings: Suspect had violent past, say police
February 16 , 2015
Police say the 22-year-old suspect in the twin shootings at a café and a synagogue in Copenhagen was born in Denmark and had a history of violence.
The suspected gunman, who killed two people and wounded several others, was shot dead by the Danish police on Sunday morning.
The two people who died have been identified as a film director at the café and a guard at the Jewish synagogue.
Police have not officially released the gunman’s identity. Denmark’s prime minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt has described the shootings as a “cynical act of terror”.
