Conservative Pinera elected as the President of Chile

  • Sebastián Piñera has won the presidential election in Chile. He has returned to the presidency after a gap of four years. The country is currently led by socialist Michelle Bachelet, who was in support of the opponent Alejandro Guillier. Left-wing supporter Guillier congratulated Pinera on his victory. The conservative billionaire is a Harvard-trained economist and has pledged to lead the economic growth. He is the one who introduced credit cards in Chile in the 1980s which made him a billionaire.
