  • Colombian prosecutors have extradited a drug lord Washington Prado Álava (an Ecuadorean national) to the USA after he was found guilty of smuggling over 250 tonnes of cocaine in last one decade. The prosecutors also accused the drug lord of trying to join Farc leftist rebel group for taking advantage of the transitional justice system as agreed between Colombian government and the rebel group. In a statement, the prosecutors called Prado Álava “one of the biggest capos (bosses)” of drug cartels who later became one of the top targets of the USA for operating throughout the Americas.
