Colorado River meets the sea
May 21 , 2014
The Colorado River has met the sea after a long time due to a recent agreement between Mexico and the US.
Water from the river hadn't reached the Sea of Cortex since the 1990s and conservationists said that this milestone will hopefully remain regular. Arizona Public Media reports that the effort was made to save the river delta after it almost dried up.
"It is sort of overwhelming, and I think it sheds light on a sort of global interest in the Colorado River completing that journey again," a member of the project said.
