Colombian rebel leader killed in army encounter

Jose Amin Hernandez Manrique, a top commander of the Colombian rebel group National Liberation Army (ELN), has reportedly been killed in an operation by the country’s military.
Better known as Marquitos, the commandor was killed in Antioquia province in the northwest, the military said.
He led several rebel units in Bolivar and Antioquia provinces, according to the army.
In a message on Twitter, Colombia’s president Juan Manuel Santos congratulated the army for the successful operation.
