Colombia: Farc rebels cut off power supply to half a million people
June 12 , 2015
Farc rebels have killed three policemen and cut off the power supply to around 500,000 people, according to the Colombian military.
The latest attack comes amid continuing peace negotiations in Cuba between the Colombian government and the far-left rebel fighters.
The five-decade long conflict has claimed more than 200,000 lives in the South American nation.
A unilateral ceasefire ended in May after Farc killed 11 soldiers, prompting president Juan Manuel Santos to resume anti-rebel bombing raids.
