Colombia Extends Quarantine Measures Until May 31

President Ivan Duque Marquez announced on Tuesday that Colombia would extend its quarantine measures until May 31. The President also said that after these measures are over, a new phase will begin in which Colombians live in coevality with the COVID-19 virus. However, borders and transportation will remain shut down until the end of June, while schools, bars and restaurants will remain closed until August as a precautionary measure against the virus. As per Johns Hopkins University, Colombia recorded over 16,935 confirmed COVID-19 cases and nearly 613 fatalities.
