Colombia: At least 18 Farc rebels killed in a military offensive
May 22 , 2015
The Colombian army has killed at least 18 Farc rebels in one of the deadliest encounters with the guerrillas since peace talks started over two years ago, media reports said.
The bombing raid was followed by a ground attack in the rebel-stronghold of Cauca department, the military said.
The conflict has killed over 200,000 people in the past five decades, and millions have fled their homes. Farc began talks with the government of Colombian President Santos in 2012 in Cuba.
