Coalition Talks Commence In Israel
January 23 , 2013
Israeli parliamentary election results predict that the right-wing and center-left blocs may be tied on 60 seats each. Coalition talks are set to commence in the country. It is expected that President Shimon Peres will ask Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attempt to form a government. Netanyahu -led Likud-Beitenu alliance lost about 25% of its seats in the 120-seat parliament, and yet remains the largest grouping having bagged 31 seats. Netanyahu seemed conciliatory following the poll results, while Yesh Atid saw the polls as a growing endorsement of his party's policies among the people of the country.
