Clashes in Hong Kong as police drive out protesters
December 1 , 2014
Dozens of people were injured as protesters clashed with the police in Hong Kong and authorities drove out people from sites they had been occupying, according to media reports.
The police baton-charged groups of pro-democracy protesters and used pepper spray as well. Several protesters were injured and taken to hospital, and many arrests were made.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying said the police would take “resolute action.” He said some people were mistaking “the police’s tolerance for weakness.”
