CIA to stop using its previous spy cover
May 21 , 2014
A White House official has said that the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) won't be using vaccination programs as cover for its future operations; the agency used it for spying before the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
Media reports indicate that the CIA also mentioned that it will not use workers or these programs for any of such purposes and also will not use genetic material gathered in the process.
It appears that Pakistan is concerned about the agency's efforts coming in the way of its current anti-polio efforts. "Public health programs should not be used as cover for covert operations," public-health deans said.
