CIA Believes Saudi Crown Prince Salman Ordered Khashoggi's Murder

  • Reports say CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) believes Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder. CIA has reportedly briefed the US Congress about its assessment on the renowned and controversial reporter’s murder. This CIA finding, first reported by the Washington Post, is believed to be the most definitive US assessment till now. The US assessment contradicts Saudi prosecutors’ conclusions, which exonerated de facto ruler the Crown Prince Salman of involvement in Khashoggi’s murder. The White House, as well as the State Department, has declined to comment on the issue. In a statement, spokesperson of Saudi Arabia Embassy in Washington called the “purported assessment” false. She went on to say that various theories and speculations are circulated without revealing “the primary basis for these speculations.”
