  • Authorities in Colombia have detained the captain of a Chinese ship heading for Cuba as it was illegally carrying arms and explosives, media reports said.

The ship was made to stop at Cartagena port in the Caribbean, officials said.

Around 100 tons gunpowder, about 3,000 shells and some 3 million detonators were found on the ship, officials said. According to the ship’s records, it was supposed to be ferrying grain products.
