Chinese security agents use 'medieval methods of torture': Amnesty

  • Security agents in China continue to use “medieval” torture methods on lawyers, activists and government opponents, the Amnesty International has said.

The report titled "No End in Sight: Torture and Forced Confessions in China” is based on interviews with about 40 Chinese human rights lawyers and lists details of alleged torture and beatings inflicted on people taken into police custody.

The report’s author Patrick Poon said the cases of torture had been documented by Amnesty from virtually all parts of the country.
