Chinese Premier Announces Cut in Growth Target to 6.5 Per Cent

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, while addressing annual session of National People's Congress at Great Hall of People, has announced that China is all set to cut down growth target of current year to 6.5 per cent from last year’s 7 percent. Li also pledged to combat serious industrial capacity of the country, oppose independence of Taiwan, and fight scourge of pollution. He also reminded the Congress of upcoming complicated global scenario in the wake of growing protectionism across the globe.
