Chinese government tries to reduce pollution
May 28 , 2014
The government in China is now trying to take 6 million polluting vehicles off the road in an attempt to clean up the cities.
According to the Cabinet, major cities have been instructed to only sell the cleanest grades of diesel and gasoline and the statement also mentioned that vehicles that don't meet emissions standards will be taken out.
China has had these standards for a long time, but authorities haven't enforced them as yet in order to avoid hurting small businesses. Nearly half of China's 240 million vehicles are passenger cars.
