China: Typhoon Chan-hom makes landfall in Zhejiang province, heads north

About a million people were evacuated from coastal regions as typhoon Chan-hom made landfall along eastern China’s Zhejiang province.
Wind speeds of 107mph were reported and rain lashed areas on the cyclone’s path. The cyclone is said to be heading north, past Shanghai city.
Earlier, several people were injured as Chan-hom hit Japan and Taiwan before heading towards China.
Hundreds of flights to and from Shanghai and other cities in the region have been cancelled, reports said.
