China pollution blamed for girl's lung cancer

  • An 8-year-old girl in China has become the youngest victim of lung cancer in the country and her doctors are blaming it on pollution.

Reports suggest that she constantly inhaled toxic air due to living on a busy street.

Deaths due to lung cancer are up by over 400 percent than what they were about three decades ago. According to an international study published earlier this year, people living in the northern part of China have shorter lives than those who live in the south.

Although, Beijing officials have started to create new measures to control pollution, it may be too late for this little girl from Jiangsu province. These measures might, however, extend the lives of other citizens being affected by this issue.
