China May Get Hit with Another Tariff Round from US This Week

  • It is likely that by the end of the week, the US will impose tariffs on almost half of the China's goods. Trump has proposed tariffs worth $200 billion and they could go into effect this Friday. However, it is uncertain if the tariffs would be set at 25% or 10%.

It is believed that if imposed, this would be the toughest tariff round for China. Earlier in July, the US imposed 25% tariffs on Chinese goods worth $34 billion. And last week only, China was slapped with another $16 billion tariffs by the Trump administration. The Asian country is also on the risk of having tariffs imposed on its steel and aluminum exports as well.
