China is Censoring Content Related to Coronavirus on Social Media

  • China is censoring content on Social Media platforms such as WeChat. Reports say Chinese Social Media authority blocked neutral information about the Coronavirus Outbreak. Late December, right after the epidemic broke out in the country, hundreds of keywords were censored such as "Wuhan seafood market" and "SARS variation". Apart from the content related to the novel virus, which is rapidly spreading around the world, the country is also censoring any criticism against the Chinese government. Moreover, theoretical and even factual information was also blocked.
