China confirms its first case of Zika Virus
February 13 , 2016
Authorities in China have confirmed the first case of Zika virus in the country. As per reports, a 34-year-old man was detected with the virus in the eastern province of Jiangxi. He had recently returned from South America. The virus, which has alarmed the world, made the Chinese health authorities act swiftly. As a preventive measure they have increased the inspections at the airport along with reinforcing training of the boundary control inspectors. Since cold weather is not congenial to the breeding of the vector, which carries the particular virus, the authorities have downplayed the threat of the mosquito borne disease.
