Children gets 'Werewolf Syndrome' After Medicine Mix-Up in Spain

  • A casualty has been reported in Spain where babies are developing 'werewolf syndrome' which is a rare condition known as 'hypertrichosis' due to “medicine mix-up”. The babies began growing hair all over their bodies after giving them what was thought to be a drug called omeprazole which helps with “gastric reflux”. However, when reported, the authorities have found out that the medicine actually contained minoxidil which is a medication for treatment of hair loss. So far nearly 17 children became the victim of the error as per Spain's health ministry.
