Child migrants from Central America need urgent help, says Pope
July 15 , 2014
Pope Francis has called for help for thousands of children from Central American nations, who attempt to migrate to the United States every month.
The Pope said the region faced a “humanitarian emergency” and called upon governments in Central America to protect the children and counsel them on the dangers of such migration.
Around 57,000 children reached the American border in the eight months from October last year, the United States has said.
