Chad executes 10 members of Boko Haram

  • Chad has executed ten members of the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram.

The convicts were executed by firing squad, the first time death penalty was used after the country strengthened its anti-terror measures.

The ten men were convicted of several crimes including murder and using explosives. Bahna Fanaye, a leader of the militant group, was among those executed.

Chad is playing a prominent role in fighting the Boko Haram, which has been targeting areas beyond the Nigerian border in recent months.
