Category 4 Hurricane Harvey makes Landfall in Texas

  • Hurricane Harvey, a Category 4 storm with 130 mph wind, made landfall in Texas (between Port O'Connor and Port Aransas) on Friday night. Reports say this is the first ever category 4 hurricane in the USA since 2004’s Hurricane Charley. The National Hurricane Center in its 11 p.m. ET update has reportedly said that the storm has passed over San Jose Island. The center has also warned that people can witness 13 feet of storm surge along with destructive waves. Hurricane Harvey is expected to cause 30 to 40 inches of rain in many places by Wednesday.
