Carnival float hits power line in Brazil; three killed

  • Three revelers in Brazil were electrocuted on Tuesday when the Carnival float they were standing on hit a power line, media reports said.

    The deaths occurred during celebrations in Nova Iguacu city, north of Rio de Janeiro. Four other people were injured, but none very seriously, authorities said.

    In a similar accident in Haiti on Tuesday, several people were reportedly killed in a stampede after a Carnival float struck an electric line.
