Canadian pastor on visit to North Korea goes missing

  • A Canadian pastor who went on a visit to North Korea has not returned from there, his church has said.

Hyeon Soo Lim, who went to North Korea on January 31, was expected to leave the country on February 4.

The reverend has been to the country several times in the past but never remained out of touch for such a long period, the Canadian church said.

Religious activity is curtailed in North Korea and authorities often detain foreigners who are linked to such activity.
