Canada Waves off Admission Fees to all National Parks to Observe Canada 150

Canada’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, said that his government will not charge any admission fees at all national parks to commemorate Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation. Celebration of Canada 150 by Parks Canada started on Saturday at Rouge National Urban Park by kicking off its 2017 visitor season. A new smartphone app has also been launched by Parks Canada that will provide visitors with detailed information on parks, event listings, and interactive maps. With this app, visitors can also plan trip to the national parks, marine conservation areas, and historic sites of Canada. Park Canada is also encouraging visitors to share their experiences on social media by using the app having GPS-themed photo filters. Free Parks Canada 2017 Discovery Pass can be obtained by the visitors from the official site of Parks Canada.
