Canada: Justin Trudeau Shows up at the Protest in Ottawa on 'Black Lives Matter'

  • During a 'Black Lives Matter' demonstration in Ottawa on Friday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took a knee along with the protestors. The act came after Trudeau declined to comment earlier about whether he would be attending the protest. However, the PM arrived at Parliament Hill - home to Canada's Parliament on Friday. Trudeau did not speak at the event, but he clapped and nodded along with other speakers and shouted "amen" when one of the speakers spoke about love and justice. No Peace until Justice organised Friday's protest as part of a protest against police brutality and systematic racism.
