California, US: Google Maps to Send Alerts About Covid-19 Related Travel Limitations to Users

The Alphabet INC unit of Google in California, USA said on Monday that Google is adding a feature on its Maps service to send alerts to users about Covid-19 related travel limitations to help the users plan their trips better. The update is designed to help users identify how crowded a train station is at a particular time, or if buses are running on their usual time. The new transit alerts would roll-out in countries such as Argentina, France, India, Netherlands, the United States and the United Kingdom among other countries. The new feature is also expected to provide details about Covid-19 checkpoints and restrictions on crossing borders which will start from Canada, Mexico and the United States.
