California governor implements water restrictions for very first time

  • California’s governor Jerry Brown has ordered the first ever water restrictions in the most populous US state.

According to the order, there will be a 25% reduction in using water across the dry state’s towns and cities. The strict measures come after Brown declared a state of emergency in 2014 following years of drought.

He said that the idea of people liberally using water for green grass was “a thing of the past.”
