Burundi: Soldier killed as unrest over president's bid for third term continues
May 1 , 2015
A soldier was shot dead and at least 15 people were injured in Burundi as clashes triggered by President Pierre Nkurunziza’s bid for a third term continued in capital Bujumbura, media reports said.
It was not immediately clear who shot the soldier. The clashes have now resulted in the death of six people, according to aid agencies.
Opponents allege that Nkurunziza’s nomination by his party to stand in the June presidential poll is unconstitutional.
