Burkina Faso parties reach agreement on transition plan

Political parties in Burkina Faso have agreed on a year-long political transition period followed by national polls in November 2015.
However, no consensus could be reached on who would be the head of the transitional government.
The military has been in charge after mass protests forced president Blaise Compaore to resign last week.
The African Union has given Burkina Faso’s military a two-week deadline to hand power to a civilian government — or face sanctions.
