British PM Offers New "UK Settled Status" to EU Citizens Living Over 5 Years in UK
June 23 , 2017
UK Prime Minister Theresa May has said at a Brussels summit that a new “UK settled status” will grant all the EU citizens, living in United Kingdom for more than 5 years, equal rights on all social welfare aspects – be it pensions, education, healthcare, or other benefits. She also reassured all the 27 European Union partner countries that no one has to leave UK after formal implementation of Brexit and no families will be split. German Chancellor Angela Merkel called it a “good start” but also said that many other issues regarding Brexit need to be resolved.
