British people unhappy with status quo: Cameron tells European Commission
May 26 , 2015
British Prime Minister David Cameron has told Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission, that the British people are “not happy” with the status quo in Europe.
Juncker said that he sought a “fair deal” for the UK, according to a spokesperson for the prime minister.
Cameron has pledged to hold a referendum before the end of 2017 to decide whether the UK stays within EU or not.
Meanwhile, the prime minister's office has confirmed that citizens from EU countries based in the UK will not be eligible to vote in the referendum.
