Britain's Ex Deputy PM during Blair-era calls Iraq Invasion Illegal

  • Britain's Ex Deputy PM during Blair-era calls Iraq Invasion Illegal

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Britain during Tony Blair’s regime, John Prescott, called Iraq invasion by US and UK forces in 2003 a “catastrophic decision”. He called Tony Blair Cabinet’s decision of going to war and messaging the then US President George W Bush (Junior) in March 2003 saying "I am with you, whatever" as “devastating”. He also agreed with former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan’s view that the Iraq War was “illegal”. John also appreciated current Labour Party’s leader Jeremy Corbyn’s stance of apologizing to the relatives of dead and injured persons during Iraq invasion on behalf of the party.
