'Britain must stay in EU', says Obama

  • Ahead of the June referendum on Brexit, the US president Barack Obama made a bold intervention in the politics of United Kingdom by urging Britain to stay in European Union. He also said that if they left EU they would be in “the back of the queue” for US trade deals. Obama mentioned that the United States would give higher priority to European Union as it is a larger market than the United Kingdom alone. This statement is welcomed by the British prime minister David Cameroon and others who are in favour of EU.
