Brazil President to appeal to trade blocs over impeachment
April 23 , 2016
Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff threatened to invoke the democracy clause of the Mercosur and Unasur trade blocs if she is removed from her office claiming this as “a rupture in democracy.” She blamed her impeachment as Coup to snatch away the power from her Workers Party by the traditional elite of Brazil. President Rousseff faces impeachment on account of illegal accounting practice that allowed her government to hide the deficits and maintain it’s spending and shore up flagging support. Mrs. Rousseff defended these allegations as fiscal manoeuvres common in Brazil.
