Boko Haram to sell kidnapped girls
May 6 , 2014
Militant group Boko Haram has admitted to have been behind the kidnapping of over 200 girls in Nigeria and leader Abubakar Shekau said he plans to "sell them in the market."
The BBC notes that the Nigerian government is being blamed for responding to the kidnappings in a weak manner.
"Wherever these girls are, we'll get them out," president Goodluck Jonathan said. However, he mentioned that the officials aren't aware of their location. Previous media reports indicate that the missing girls may have been taken to other countries.
