May 4 , 2015
Former female captives of the Boko Haram revealed that some fellow hostages were stoned to death when the Nigerian troops closed in on the militant group.
When the women refused to run away, the Islamist fighters pelted them with stones.
Around 300 women and children were rescued from the Sambisa forest.
According to the army, over 700 people have been rescued in one week amid intensifying operations against Boko Haram.
Survivors have narrated tales of horror, including how the militants killed men and older boys before abducting the women and children.
